Open Question: Oracle ?'s. Enter ye, if ye be bold and true of spirit.?

What is a host string? How do I find out the url of my database? How can I completely uninstall everything that is Oracle on my computer (so I can COMPLETELY start over) Why when I install does it tell me it’s installing Enterprise Manager but then there is no enterprise manager to be found anywhere on my computer? Do I need to go back to the download page and download that application separately? If my database url is https://Sean-PC:5500/myDatabase and I used that in my Java code to connect to the database (both the java program and database are on my local machine) would it work? How do I tell sql *plus which database to connect to on my local computer? What is TNS? Why can I log on to sql *plus through DOS but not when I open sql *plus in its possess window since I don’t know what my host string is? How do I open a connection in sql developer? I have no options for doing this. every it gives me is a CVS connection and a subversion repository connection. How about just a regular joe the plumber connection to my regular database? For the adore of god that’s every I want Why is Oracle so stupid? I had free webspace with my old ISP provider and created a website. When I go to the FTP is fails to connect - is this because I am no longer with that ISP? I have a new website and the person hosting it is not doing the updates. The person has medical issues (not physical if you know what I mean) and will not respond to repeated emails and phone calls. They possess the site name. Is there a way around the problem where I can receive my updates done or do I need to go with a real company that can managed this for me. Open Question: Could my cat have died from carbondioxide inhalation because he was closed up in a room without air conditioni?

Maybe that sounds silly but just hear me out. So I'm an exchange student living in Spain. A couple of nights ago I went to snooze and my cat was breathing a little rapidly. I don't know why I didn't think anything of it, but I went to snooze. When I left in the morning he was every right, but when I got home I found him dead. My host dad says that it is because of the carbon dioxide, and that I could have died in my snooze. They said it builds up and because I never opened the windows and always had the window coverings closed that it built up and that I could have died along with my cat. Am I stupid to be skeptical of this or stupid to be hesitant to be skeptical? Note that the room is completely closed off. Maybe I'm dumb but I had no idea something like that could happen. I researched ont he internet about breathing problems within cats and I found a lot, like lung infections (which are apparently prevalent in young animals), lung diseases, and a lot of other stuff. Also, because my room was closed off, a lot of humidity built up, like my windows would every be fogged up and everything, and as a result, some nice of fungus built up on the walls and around the window. It's every over our home but only a little bit, there was A LOT on my wall. I had no idea what it was, I tried to clean it but I couldn't, my host dad cleaned it today with something with bleach or something. But could this have given him a lung infection? Or is it my fault for locking him in my room with not enough air? thanks. well i guess i had to learn the difficult way that you have to bleach the walls and open the windows in spain. in america we never do that... i really wish i had known better, my little cat wouldnt have died...

Consequently, nothing really makes your life glad either, you are however excited for a party that you are hosting coming up, and you know it'll be a great time; but nonetheless you're undeniably upset with no clue as to why. You skipped school today and sign on to myspace seeing that someone commented your truthbox saying "You suck, why do you lie about your attendance? I hate you." Open Question: NHL Live on XM - NHL Network Where's E.J. ?

Does anyone have an idea on what's up with E.J. Hradek's odd absence from the NHL Live show? Has he been fired or forced to take time off the air because of something he said or an issue with management? Don Lagreca told us yesterday that E.J. would be back today but he wasn't and instead Bill Clement was filling in. Anybody know something? We had a very similar situation with one of our local sports talk radio hosts here in Dallas about a year ago. Finally it was admitted that in that situation the host had been released from the station. I wonder at this point if E.J. will be back now.

Open Question: Family gathering menu plan?

Every year, I host our family Thanksgiving gathering and every year, it's the same menu..... Turkey, dressing, green beans, corn, blah, blah. This year, due to scheduling conflicts, we are gathering on the Sunday following Thanksgiving (the 30th). Since we are changing things up a bit, I thought I'd change the menu up a bit as well. Well, I have met every kinds of opposition from my mom-in-law and my sister-in-law. They are giving me every kinds of grief because I said that we weren't having the "traditional" meal this year. Am I wrong for doing something non-traditional? To me, it's not about the food we eat, but it's more about being together as a family. Any suggestions?

Open Question: Family never wants me to host Thanksgiving?

I am 28 years old, married and have two kids. Every year for as long as I've been alive my grandma has hosted Thanksgiving. My mom has never hosted one that I recall (which is fine with her, she's not a big cook). My grandparents moved into a tiny apartment a few years ago. We every cram into their place (sometimes 15 to 20 people) and have to eat on card tables or just on the sofa. My husband and I have a big home. We have plenty of room- an eat-in kitchen and a big dining room with plenty of seating. The last couple years I have offered to host Thanksgiving. I think the problem is with my grandma. To her I am still just a little kid. My mom just goes along with whatever she says. They still assume I am the same as when I was a kid. Back then I never cooked anything or never had the desire to. I feel like I will not be able to host a Thanksgiving for many more years. I have nice china that I've never used and I adore to cook. My grandma won't even let me bring a dish to her home! I have so many cookbooks and recipes I'd adore to try, but I never receive the chance. My mom-in-law is almost as bad. She hosts a dinner every year and hates when anyone brings a dish. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Any advice would be great. I receive so bummed out every Thanksgiving. My grandma starts cooking weeks in advance and freezing things. She's got nothing but time on her hands to cook. I just want her to take a break for one year and let me do it.

Open Question: Should we buy Ashley Russell a stop watch for Christmas?

Just a random thought on a slow sports day. Has anyone else noticed that the Yahoo Sports Minute and the Rivals Minute, usually hosted by Sports Babe Ashley Russell, are way longer than a minute? The Yahoo Minute averages about 1½ minutes and the Rivals Minute is usually close to a minute and 50 secs. No big deal tho. I guess naming them Yahoo Sports Minute and a half and Rivals Almost Two Minutes wouldn't sound every that chilly.
